There were certainly some top performances in week three. Some big time recruits and several commits had outstanding weeks and a couple of junior backs broke loose.
Again Zeeland West's Andrew Plaska tore off a big game as the senior fullback had 13 carries for 262 yards and 3 TDs in another win for the Dux.
Farmington Hills Harrison got back on track this week. QB
Craig Sacha
went 14 of 19 for 146 yards and a TD and tailback
Norman Shuford
rushed for 166 yards and 1 TD and also caught a touchdown.
Detroit Renaissance RB
Charles Hollowell
had 199 yards and 2 TDs on only 12 carries as Renaissance beat Detroit Southwestern. WR
Sam Gaymon
had a 15 yard TD reception in that game.
How about Edwin Baker of Oak Park? The junior running back is making some big time noise. Last week, he had 275 yards and 2 TDs, this week against Troy, he rushed for 235 yards and two scores on 15 carries.
Larry Caper
, Battle Creek Central's talented junior back rushed for 113 yards on 12 carries in the 1st half of the Bearcats' 45-13 victory over Sturgis. Caper was pulled at halftime due to the 35-0 lead.
Yet another top junior back,
Hersey Jackson
of Allendale rushed for 94 yards and a TD on 16 carries.
Speaking of Bearcats, the
Cincinnati
commits had a big week. Marine City QB
Brendon Kay
went 11/12, for 262 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wide Receiver
Bruce Horner
of Farmington Hills Harrison had 9 receptions for 101 yards and a TD and Detroit King RB
Darrin Williams
had 135 yards and 2 scores.
In that same game, King DE

Midland junior QB Andrew Maxwell, one of the state's top juniors completed 9 of 14 passes for 193 yards and 2 TDs in a big win over Saginaw Heritage.
Muskegon Heights improved to 3-0 with a win over Grand Rapids Union. A big key was the defense as DE

Daquante Caviness
also had 8 stops and junior LB Ken McDaniels also contribute 8 tackles as well as 1 sack and an INT he took for a TD.
