Dearborn Fordson junior RB Ali Alaboody is making some noise. The junior rushed for 134 yards and 2 TDs against Dearborn Divine Child and also locked down his side at cornerback, nearly intercepting two passes. Teammate Hassan Amen carried 15 times for 139 yards and a score. No Ronald? No problem for Muskegon as Corey Johnson had 4 receptions for 74 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Big Reds' win over Creston. QB Chris Crawford was 6 of 10 for 90 yards and the 3 scores and also added one on the ground. Troy Tidwell, who made 2nd team All-Army Junior Combine this past year backed it up on the field his first game. The Detroit Southwestern cornerback had an interception, returned a punt for a score and rushed for 155 yards. Dearborn QB Anthony Mifsud, facing a tough Highland Park defense went 9-11 for 105 yards and a TD as they pulled out a 7-6 victory over the Polar Bears. Farmington Hills Harrison's dynamic duo faired well. QB Craig Sacha went 6 for 8 for 136 yards and ran for a score. RB Norman Shuford had 200 yards on 18 carries and 2 touchdowns. Anyone questioning how good Jimmy Saros actually is got their answers. The Grosse Pointe South receiver is on record breaking pace and got his season started off right with a 6 catch, 106 yard performance. One of those catches was a touchdown, he also added another TD on a punt return and picked off a pass on defense. Madison Heights Madison RB DeAndre Johnson, one of the state's most productive players rushed for 190 yards and 3 TDs. Detroit Renaissance WR Sam Gaymon had 5 catches, 166 yards and a TD in the Phoenix' win over U of D Jesuit. QB Jeray Carraway carried the ball 7 times for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns, he also went 17 of 25 through the air for 152 yards and the TD to Gaymon. Darrin Williams, a Cincinnati commit ran for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns as King won 33-0 over Detroit Mumford. Antother Cincinnati commit, Kalamazoo Central RB/WR Camerron Cheatham ran for 2 touchdowns in his first game. Junior QB Juwan Hemphill, a name to remember, rushed for 184 yards and a TD on 17 carries. Orchard Lake St. Mary's RB Dominique White scored four touchdowns as OLSM beat Cass Tech 28-6. Troy QB Branko Hamilton, who we noted performed well at the Grand Valley State camp rushed for 80 yards and 2 TDs and threw for 120 as Troy won 28-14 over Birmingham Seaholm. Another top performer at that camp was Saline WR Sam Burchyett. Against Flint Carmen-Ainsworth this week, Burchyett had a 71 yard kickoff return which set up one score and on 4th and 11, with his team down 24-20, caught a 13 yard fade which won the game for the Hornets. Rochester WR Cameron Nabors had 8 catches for 115 yards in their win over North Farmington. Jackson RB Tyler Thomas had 20 carries for 153 yards and 2 TDs. |
