Moran Talks GVSU Commitment

Fowlerville (Mich.) senior tight end Brian Moran explains why he decided to be a Laker.

Fowlerville High tight end Brian Moran is a 6'4, 220-lb standout football player, wrestler, and the newest member of the 2013 Grand Valley State recruiting class.

"It was pretty much the coaching staff," he said of his decision. "How they go about doing everything. The program they have is amazing. Even though they had two years in a row where they haven't made playoffs, they're a winning program and that's the way present themselves. They turn kids into successful people. The campus, atmosphere, everything is beautiful. It's where I wanted to be, where I wanted study, play football, and go to school."

As far as how he will be used, Moran believes his skills fit the offense, but specifics haven't been discussed yet.

"I haven't really heard much of that yet. Since I'm committed, I'm sure we'll get more into detail about that. I have talked to my recruiting coach and asked him what I'll be used for. Pretty much, it's the typical Y position, blocking, running routes, more of a receiving tight end than blocking."

Another part of his decision was seeing the campus three times and getting a feel for the facilities and the area.

"I went on a game day visit, and camp. I didn't go to any other visits to D2 schools or any other games, but just to be up there, to be at the best D2 school there is for football, I was amazed by it. Everything they have to provide, all the resources, coaches, everything they do for the school amazed me at that level of football."
