Grand Blanc linebacker Luke Maclean: Maclean is 6'3, 220-pounds and looked every bit of it. He projects as a defensive end or outside linebacker prospect at the next level, and will play either position depending on the defensive scheme of the program he attends. Maclean was there to try to improve his personal best 4.71 forty time and to improve his vertical leap to 35 inches (results will be posted online on Tuesday). He has also competed at the Adidas Exposure Combine and Army-All American Combine. Maclean has offers from Cincinnati, Buffalo, Central Michigan and is getting serious attention from Georgia Tech and Michigan State.
Walled Lake Western defensive back Joshua Jones: Jones is 6'2, 195-pounds. He is a tall lengthy cornerback prospect. Jones has a muscular build and with his height and size, and could be considered a "project" at the next level. I say project, because he has a knack for holding his opponents and needs to work on his technique. But his raw abilities are what make him standout. He ran well at the combine with a fluid motion. He is currently getting interest from Central Michigan, Grand Valley State, Michigan State. He attended Eastern Michigan junior day on March 17.
Muskegon Orchard View athlete Marcus Smith: Smith is 5'10, 175-pounds. Smith plays wide out and cornerback. He projects more as slot receiver and showcased nice speed with powerful bursts. He was the WR MVP of the Michigan camp last summer. He said he plans on visiting Michigan for their Spring game.
Marion (Iowa) tackle Zach Borens: Borens is 6'7, 335-pounds. He is a big prospect with a huge frame and is very thick. He bench presses 405-pounds and runs average for his size. But his mammoth body alone, makes him next level prospect. He is currently getting interest from Iowa State, Iowa, and Wisconsin. He attended Wisconsin junior day. Glenbard East (Illinois) wide receiver Malysha Flanders: Flanders is 6'3, 195-pounds. He is a tall receiver with good speed. He played running back for his team last year. This year he plans on playing his natural position of wide out. He currently runs a 4.58 forty and bench presses 285-pounds. He is getting letters of interest from Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and is visiting Tennessee later this month.
Detroit Frederick Douglas running back Demetrius Stinson: Stinson is 5'9, 170-pounds. He is a ball of muscle and runs with power and speed. He runs a 4.47 forty and bench pressed 225-pounds 14 times. He is getting interest from Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Iowa and Missouri.
Okemos defensive linemen Daniel Brown: Brown is 6'5, 365-pounds. He is a big body and projects as division-1 player. He is getting interest from CMU, Western Michigan, and Michigan State. He has been invited by Ball State to come down for a visit and thinks a offer is on its way.
Others to note
Detroit Country Day running back Richard Thomas: Thomas is a 2014 prospect and comes in at 5'11, 197-pounds. He runs a low 4.6 forty time. Thomas scored 10 touchdowns last season as sophomore. Thomas has been getting interest from Stanford, Ball State and Marquette. He plans on attending Michigan and Stanford camps this summer.
Heritage athlete Brian Cole: 6'1 and 180-pounds. Cole is a 2015 duel threat quarterback that will start as a sophomore this season, after serving as the teams back up as a freshman. Cole started at free safety last season too. He is speedy prospect that showed good athleticism and should be one to watch. He plans on camping at MSU this summer.
