Ray Lee Commits to Eastern Michigan

Romulus (Mich.) senior guard Ray Lee discusses his verbal commitment to Eastern Michigan.

Romulus (Mich.) 6-foot-3, 170-pound senior guard Ray Lee recently committed to Eastern Michigan. Lee chose Eastern Michigan over Baylor, Central Michigan, Dayton, Iowa, Iowa State, Rhode Island, UCF, Toledo, Virginia and Xavier.

"I choose Eastern Michigan because ultimately is the best fit for me." Lee replied. "I like and trust the coaching staff, I feel they will help me to become a better player. I also like the fact that I we have other great talent coming in."

Lee had plenty of college options to choose from and probably a chance to earn a couple more offers but Lee felt it was the right time.

"Like I said I felt like it was a good fit." Lee replied. "I have known Coach Brown and Coach Murphy for a while now and they have always been upfront with me and they feel I will blossom there. My dad and coaches also felt it was a great fit for me and that I would do well. I came to the conclusion if it was the best fit for me then there was no need to wait any longer to commit." Lee is happy that he has officially committed to Eastern Michigan but was in no rush to end the recruiting process.

"I enjoyed recruiting process." Lee said. "I wasn't in rush to end it or to make a decision, I just felt the time was right, so I didn't waste any time in committing. However it is cool to be able to relax and focus on the rest of my senior season."

Lee is talented guard who does great things with the ball in his hands and is eager to contribute to Eastern Michigan in any way that he can.

"As of now, I am not sure what my official role will be." Lee replied. "The coaches have not guaranteed me a starting spot; they say I have a good opportunity to earn a starting position. I feel I am at my best when I have the ball in my hands because I am able to create for myself and others. I am unselfish player, who plans to get my future teammates involved and score when needed."
